Issued: 10th Jul 1950. Perf: 13x12½. Watermark Wz 1 and available on sheets (10x10). Designed by Kreische and issued to commemorate 250 years of the German Academy of Sciences, Berlin.

This stamp features Leonhard Euler, (15th Apr 1707 to 18th Sep 1783) a Swiss born mathematician, physicist, astronomer, logician and engineer who made important and influential discoveries in many branches of mathematics and worked at the Berlin Academy for 25 years.

There are many known printing errors for all the stamps in this series.
